Aluminum
Aluminum is a corrosion-resistant, low-density metal. Aluminum is durable and lightweight, can be easily machined, and has good conductivity. It has a silvery-grey finish. Minor surface scratches can be expected.
- 6060
6060 T66 temper extruded aluminum is a medium strength material with excellent corrosion resistance and weldability. 6060 T66 responds well to cold forming and standard anodizing practices. - 2007
2007 with a T3 temper is a drawn alloy material that can be hardened to its full potential when heat treated. It has the highest electrical conductivity among the 2000-series alloys because of its copper content. This material is often used in the manufacturing of washers and bolts.
Carbon
Carbon is the most common form of steel and has a wide variety of applications, especially structural applications. We offer a variety of carbon steel grades such as low carbon, medium carbon, alloy, and leaded alloy.
- (E235) 1008/1010 Round Tube
We offer seamless low carbon steel, a non-alloy grade which is easy to machine with moderate mechanical properties. - (E235) 1008/1010 Square and Rectangular Tube
We offer a low carbon steel, non-alloy, cold-formed grade which is easy to machine with moderate mechanical properties and rounded corners. - S355 (new grade heading). Available for Angle, Channel and I Beams only.
S355 is a hot rolled carbon steel product with high mechanical properties. It is a high strength low alloy product. - 1045 TG&P Round
1045 is medium carbon steel grade that is turned, ground & polished for a smooth, even surface. The higher carbon content gives increased strength but with limited weldability. The surface can be induction hardened. - 1144 TG&P Round
1144 is medium carbon steel grade that is turned, ground & polished for a smooth, even surface. The higher carbon content gives increased strength with limited weldability. It offers free machining qualities with a greater resistance to wear. - 12L14 Round
12L14 is a low carbon grade that is free machining due to lead content. It is non-weldable nor heat treatable and has a smooth surface finish. - (S235) 1005/1018 Flat, Square & Hex
1005/1018 is a low carbon steel that is cold drawn and used in general applications. It offers good weldability and machinability qualities. - 1018 Round
1018 is a general-purpose, low carbon steel. It offers good weldability and bendability. It has a smooth surface finish. - 1045
Round, Square & Hex A medium carbon steel that has higher mechanical properties than the low carbon grades. The higher carbon content results in increased strength but with limited weldability. The surface can be induction hardened and has a smooth surface finish. - 1045 Keystock
Flat 1045 keystock is medium carbon steel that has higher mechanical properties than low carbon steel. The higher carbon content gives increased strength with limited weldability. The surface can be induction hardened and has a smooth finish. Keystock material offers tighter tolerances than of cold-drawn material. - 1215 TG&P Round
1215 TG&P is a low carbon material that is considered free machining without the added lead. The smooth result of the turned, ground, and polished surface ensures a tighter tolerance. It is not weldable or heat treatable.
Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel is a low maintenance material ideal for many applications where strength and corrosion resistance are required. We offer a variety of stainless steel grades such as cold drawn or turned, ground and polished (TGP). In order of machinability the grades are as follows: 303, 304, and 316.
- 303 Hex
The 303 stainless steel is the most machinable grade of stainless steel offering good strength and good corrosion resistance in mild environments. 303 is not recommended for welding and is not suitable for use in marine applications. - 303 TG&P Round
303 TG&P stainless steel is the most machinable grade of stainless steel. It offers good strength and corrosion resistance in mild environments. This material is not recommended for welding nor suitable for use in marine applications. Turned, ground & polished surfaces ensure tighter tolerances and a smooth, shiny surface. - 304 TG&P Round
304 TG&P is often referred to as 18/8. It is machinable, has excellent weldability, and has very good corrosion resistance. This is not suitable for use in applications that are in direct contact with saltwater. The turned, ground & polished process provides a tighter tolerance and smooth, shiny surface. - 304 Flat & Square
304 is often referred to as 18/8. It is machinable, has excellent weldability, and has very good corrosion resistance. It is not suitable for use in marine applications where direct contact with salt water can occur. This is a dual-certified product. - 316 Flat & Hex Bar, & Round Tube
316 offers excellent resistance to rust and corrosion. Unlike the other 300 series options, 316 is widely used in marine applications. 316 offers a higher strength than the 303 & 304 but has a lower machinability rating. 316 is suitable for welding. This is a dual-certified product. - 316 TG&P Round
316 TG&P offers excellent resistance to rust and corrosion. Unlike some of the lower 300 series stainless steel options, this material is widely used in marine applications. It has a higher strength than the 303 & 304 but has a lower machinability rating. It is suitable for welding. The turned, ground & polished process provides a tighter tolerance and smooth, shiny surface.
Alloy
Alloy is a heat treatable steel containing one or more alloying elements other than carbon. In comparison to carbon steel, alloys have the following improved properties: strength, hardness, and wear resistance.
- 4140 TG&P Round
4140 Heat-treated TG&P offers higher mechanical properties than that of 1045. This material can be difficult to weld. The turned, ground & polished finish provides a more accurate diameter and smooth, shiny surface.
